It appears that Dunder Mifflin won’t be losing somebody after all.

After last season’s finale cast a shadow of doubt to whether the Dunder Mifflin Scranton branch would keep Gabe Lewis on its payroll, an NBC source confirms to me that Zach Woods will be back next season as a full-fledged series regular.

“Zach will be returning next season,” the show insider tells me. Thus clearing up the influx of e-mails asking me if he would be back.

In last season’s finale, Gabe’s future at the branch was in a state of limbo after Jo Bennett (Kathy Bates) informed him that he would be packing his bags. The character was involved in a love triangle storyline with Erin (Ellie Kemper) and Andy Bernard (Ed Helms) that ultimately ended in a break-up.

As for the decision as to who will be replacing Steve Carrell‘s Michael Scott, a decision has still not been made.
