‘Rizzoli & Isles’ Scoop: Heroes, Bodies, And… Body Contact?

Posted on March 11, 2011

Rizzoli & Isles doesn’t start airing its 10 episode second season until July 11th but for those fans of Maura, Jane, and the “Rizzles” groupies, I’m sure they’ll do anything for a bit of Rizzoli scoop. Thank God I was born!

Season 2 kicks off with the episode entitled  “We Need Another Hero.” It’s been 12 weeks since Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) nearly died from a life-threatening injury, and something is still getting in her way of healing. While she claims to be fine, it’s her partner-in-crime Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) who notices Jane isn’t quite up-to-par. Oh, and did I mention there’s body contact between the two? Well, I did now!

The show is also introducing several new characters, including Dr. Michikao Tada (like TAH-DA, something Jane like to poke a little fun of). On loan from Japan (umm….) to assist in the lab, she’s quite the fan of Dr. Isles and glad to be helping out Boston P.D.

Also joining in the season premiere is the recurring character of  Sgt. Major Charles “Casey” Jones, an old friend of Rizzoli’s from high school. Currently on a tour of duty in Afghanistan, Casey takes an absence from duty to visit Jane on the day she’s given a major award. With a crime committed during Casey’s stay, he extends his visit to help assist in the investigation.

Excited for season 2 of R&I yet? The wait too long? Sound off in the comments below!
